NM pharmacists can prescribe contraception!

Exciting news for New Mexico! New regulations allow trained and certified pharmacists to prescribe contraception go in effect today.
This means certified pharmacists can prescribe and provide birth control on the spot! This is a huge win for our rural communities, whom are most impacted by our most profoundly impacted by our state’s healthcare and provider shortages.

Young Women United worked alongside partners ACLU of New Mexico and New Mexico Pharmacists Association to make this a reality!
