We need your help before August 9th to protect the good-neighbor rules that would help curb methane pollution from oil and gas operations. Scott Pruitt’s EPA wants to put a stay on the part of methane rules that requires companies to do leak detection and repair, despite the fact that doing this would bring more royalties to the state, curb a highly potent global warming gas and protect people’s health. We have until August 9th to gather as many comments as possible and we need your help. There are several ways that you can help us meet our goal of 500,000 nationwide:
#1 – GATHER COMMENTS – Print out the attached comment (MethaneStayPetition) and ask friends, family, organizational members or anyone you think of to fill it out. People are welcome to personalize these comments. We are gathering the comments at the Sierra Club office so you can send them back to 2215 Lead Ave. SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106. You can also scan them and email them to camilla.feibelman@
#2 – PREPARE YOUR OWN COMMENTS – You can participate in our Tele Comment Writing Workshop and Hearing. The details are below and RSVP are below. The purpose of this event it to help you get the information you need to write highly personal and meaningful comments.
#3 – LET US KNOW IF YOU HAVE A STORY TO SHARE – Has oil and gas impacted your health, your land or your community? Let us know so we can help to share your story through comments on the EPA’s methane rule.
#4 – SHARE THIS FACEBOOK POST – Help us get work out by forwarding this email and joining and sharing this Facebook event.
